Hot air balloon flights in Cappadocia are decided every morning by the official Cappadocia SHM (Slot Service Center) based on wind and visibility. The live status box above shows the current official decision and the latest weather from the Nevşehir Cappadocia Airport (LTAZ) station.
Why balloon flights get cancelled
- Fog: low visibility over the valleys is the most common reason for a no-fly morning.
- Wind: strong or gusty surface wind makes launch and landing unsafe.
- Rain or storms: flights are grounded until conditions clear.
The decision can change up to the last minute and is usually confirmed early in the morning. If tomorrow's decision is still pending, check again after the SHM update.
